Digital ImagingOur Digital Imaging department takes your idea from concept or computer file to print-ready. We offer a wide range of services including: |
Type and DesignCarol Littleton starts with your idea and copy and fashions a complete design for review and approval. Her work includes a wide range of projects such as newsletters, brochures, menus, flyers and forms. During her twelve years at Braden Printing, Carol has been an active participant in our evolution from paste-up artwork to four color imagesetting. A graduate of Keene State College, she has taught design and Quark Xpress. |
ScanningOur Heidelberg Circon scanner provides top quality scans from 35mm slides to 11" x 17" sheets. Dennis Newell color corrects a scan prior to printing. His experience includes ten years at Braden Printing, five years preparing scans, file output and proofs for PC Connection's catalog and a thorough background in his family's printing business. |

Pre-Flight and File AdjustmentExperienced pre-flighting of customer files is critical to the successful transition of information from disk to film. Proficient in all major design programs, Dennis evaluates files and works with customers when necessary to ensure successful imaging and printing. |
Digital ProofingOur Epson 7600 ink jet printer with a Kodak RIP produces very accurate color proofs to check your images before we send them to the imagesetter. It prints on a 23" wide roll of photo glossy paper. |
Digital Copier ProofsFast and economical color pre-proofing is done on our Konica 8031 Copier/Printer. Its Fiery RIP provides accurate calibration. |
TrappingCorrect trapping provides a slight overlap between adjacent colors that prevents gaps between the two colors. Here Dennis checks the preview of a color file on our new Agfa Taipan RIP. Featuring PostScript level 3 and InRIP trapping, this system provides accurate traps from composite color files -- either native applications or PDF. |

Imagesetting Output and ProofingIncoming files are laserproofed to check that all page elements and type are correctly positioned, then imageset on our Agfa Accuset. The film is checked against the lasers, stripped, proofed, and ready for your review and approval prior to printing. |
